UN Career
Academy

Questions, answered.

Is this course affiliated with the United Nations?
No. UN Career Academy is an independent educational product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the United Nations, any of its agencies, or the International Criminal Court. Everything it teaches is built from public sources; that independence is what lets it be honest with you about how the system works.
Who made this course?
I did. I am Farhaan Ahmed, a Cambridge-educated international lawyer who spent years at the International Criminal Court in The Hague, on both sides of the hiring table, and I have seen how these decisions are really made. Since 2016 I have also taught and coached law students, and I have mentored early-career professionals. I would still rather you judged the course on the depth and specificity of the content than on my name: take a free lesson and decide for yourself.
Is this for mid-career professionals, or only graduates?
Both, and I built it that way deliberately. Inside a module you take the lessons in any order, and each module opens as you finish the one before it. If you came only for the contract system, the application mechanics and the interview, open modules 2, 5 and 7 directly. Nothing you skip is marked complete, and any module you pass over is there to open whenever you want it. Nothing here assumes you are twenty-three.
Is it a video course?
No. The course is written and interactive: you read, you type, the page responds as you write, and you leave every lesson with a document you made, to copy or download. Four of its lessons are free to take in full.
How long does it take?
Sixty lessons, and about three to four hours of reading. Longer in practice, because you are writing as you go: eight to twelve hours is a realistic estimate for working through it properly, entirely at your own pace. The course remembers where you stopped, down to the step you were on.
Do I get updates?
Yes. Your access is to the course, not to a snapshot of it. As the hiring landscape changes, the material is revised, and existing members get every future updated version at no further cost, and the improvements appear in your course automatically, with nothing to re-purchase.
How much does the course cost?
€200, paid once, for lifetime access to the whole course. There is no subscription.
Is the price the same everywhere?
No: prices are set by country, from where you are when you buy, and checked against your billing country after purchase.
Will this guarantee me a UN job?
No, and anyone who tells you otherwise is not being honest. The UN does not charge a fee at any stage of its recruitment, and nobody here applies for you: this course teaches you how the system works so you can apply well yourself. It makes sure that when your chance comes, you are not the candidate who was not ready. The decision still rests with the system; your preparation is the part you control.
